Company Background
Computrition, Inc. is a publicly owned (CSI) Constellation Software Inc, international organization with offices across the United States and in Canada. The company specializes in providing Foodservice Operations Management (FOM) and Nutrition Care Management (NCM) computer software products and services that meet the needs of consumers and organizations worldwide. For longer stay client facilities, Computrition offers the CareTrakker line of software, which is a compilation of basic functionality from both FOM and NCM. The first systems were installed in 1982, which included both food cost management and nutritional analysis programs. Food distributors began providing the system and/or its output as a value-added service in maintaining healthcare accounts. Computrition provides the capability to send and receive order information and price updates from all distributors. The Computrition system includes a database of generic and brand name food products with not only nutrient information for each item but also product density and as purchased to edible portion conversions to account for preparation losses. The database is updated on a regular basis with updates sent to customers at least twice each year.

Windows Product Evolution
Computrition’s systems have matured over the past decade and evolved from one product on a single platform to over 50 products with multiple add-on modules operating on multiple platforms including Windows ®95/98, Windows NT ® and Windows® 2000. The Windows software products are referred to as Hospitality Suite ® systems solutions and include components for healthcare, business and educational accounts. The Hospitality Suite systems are comprised of totally integrated foodservice and resident management programs, developed specifically for menu planning, purchasing, inventory, automatic order entry, production planning, recipe management, forecasting, costing and control, nutritional analysis, options to automate HACCP and a complete suite for diet office management. The system provides for a single point of data entry, in an online real time environment and is fully integrated enabling users to implement only those programs required now with the ability to add more functionality later without redundant data entry.

Online, Real Time Processes
All Computrition software products process information in virtual real time. There is no batch processing required. Unless the system is manually shutdown, Computrition operates in an online real time environment twenty-four hours per day. No scheduled down time is needed for maintenance. Computrition recommends downtime based on hardware or operating system limitations only.
